{Details} The Daily Uniform

Sweater- Kenzo | blouse- Current Elliott | leggings- Zara | bag- Alexander Wang | booties- ShoeMint

I'm not sure what it is lately, but I've been in some kind of sartorial slump. No matter how hard I try to shake it, I just can't seem to motivate myself to mix things up — it's all comfy layers, all the time. These Zara leggings in particular have been in heavy rotation, partly because they go with everything, but mainly (let's be real here) because of laziness. So until summer's finally here, I'm going to embrace the slump and enjoy my cozy layers... Long live the uniform. xx

{Beauty} 3 Must-Have Blushes For Spring

Always a sucker for dewy skin, my quest for the perfect blush has led me down many a Sephora aisle over the years (and left me with a pretty epic list of favourites). But since variety is the spice of life and what not, my newest go-tos were just too good not to share, all for different reasons: From a little extra "glow-from-within," to that perfect peachy finish, these three blushes are hands-down my top picks for spring...  And although I'm no makeup expert, I think you may just agree.

First up is the one I've consistently turned to for the better part of a year — Josie Maran's Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee in "Poppy Paradise." It provides a subtle pop of colour, but the best part is how nourishing it is to the skin. It's packed with good-for-you ingredients that leaves cheeks dewy and soft without the slightest trace of film... "Glow-from-within" doesn't even begin to describe this one, people.

Next up is a new favourite, Makeup Forever's HD Blush in 215. Seriously though, I love. this. blush — exclamation mark. The cream formula glides on effortlessly and blends in to leave a satin finish that's basically like second skin. Not to mention the fact that this peachy shade in particular gives the illusion of a sun-kissed complexion, when in reality that couldn't be farther from the truth. This one gets two thumbs up from me, no question!

Finally I had to include Clinique's Cheek Pops in the shade in "Berry Pop." Their colour range in general is amazing and I love the formulation — it's beautifully pigmented yet it goes on in a super subtle, barely-there finish... Perfect for no-makeup makeup days, if you know what I mean (winky face). And can we just take a moment to acknowledge the delightful floral imprint? Hubba hubba! In my opinion, this one is a mega-must.

So those are my picks — what are yours? If you have any current faves or amazing recommendations, I'm all ears! xx

{DIY} Clay Pineapple Ring

You guys know me and clay DIYs — they're just too fun to resist! Playing with the stuff makes me feel like a kid again (probably why I also love Shrinky Dinks so much), plus the possibilities are pretty much endless in terms of what you can whip up. So after months of pining for summer, I felt the urge to bring a little piece of that to my fingertips with a fun pineapple ring! And although there's still snow on the ground where I live (actually), you would never suspect it by looking at my hands.
Read on for full instructions!

SUPPLIES: FIMO CLAY | BOBBY PIN | GOLD SPRAY PAINT | RING BASE | GLUE

TIME: 1 HOUR | DIFFICULTY LEVEL: EASY

Take a piece of FIMO clay and roll it around to make it soft and malleable. Roll a larger chunk into an oval shape to form the pineapple base, then mold four smaller strips into stylized leaf shapes.

Combine all four pieces together, adding a thin layer of clay to hide the seams. Flatten the ridges as best you can with your fingertip, them use a bobby pin to smooth everything out.

Draw a thin line separating the pineapple base from the top, then draw intersecting lines across the base for decorative impact. Once you're happy with your design, carefully transfer the pineapple onto a baking sheet and pop it into the oven following package instructions for about half an hour.

Once fully cooled and hardened, spray paint the pineapple whatever colour you wish; I chose gold because it's my favourite finish, but you could use acrylic paint or even nail polish to get whatever look you want. Let the paint dry fully, then adhere your pineapple to a ring base using strong glue.

And that's it! Easy and adorable... now if only the weather would cooperate. xx
